There are two indicating lights on the Go Pro Hero 3, one is red which shows that the Hero 3 is in record mode, the other light indicates the activation of the Wi-Fi.
The removable battery cover can be found on the back panel, so if you are planning to shoot out all day, batteries can be swapped. Right next to the battery door, the bacpac connection can be found, where the accessorized back packs such as the LCD and battery bacpacs connect.
The Wi-Fi button can be found on the right side of the Hero 3, which activates and de-activates wireless connectivity for smart phones that have added the Go Pro application. Although the Hero3 does not come with a microSD card, it can support cards with capacities 64GB. The USB port makes a comeback and can be used for charging and syncing. The Microphone pinholes for audio recording can be found on both side of the Hero 3.
Another addition besides the smaller chassis and being thinner in size, the clear plastic shell of the Hero 3 comes with 3 water proof buttons through which your inputs can be passed, through to the power/mode button, select button, the shutter release and the new Wi-Fi button. The back door features a new two stage lock, a tab which requires to be pushed to the side before lifting the locking mechanism.
The flat lens, the Hero 3’s new shell feature, will work perfectly under water and provide better image quality.
